Approximate figures from KFF analyses of medical debt and HealthCare.gov claims data, and the 21st Century Cures Act information-blocking rule.
Eight lines. Seven problems. Ten seconds.
This is what Septemberr does to a typical ER bill for a sprained ankle. Every flag comes with the reason and the fix.
- Scroll here to watch Septemberr read a real-looking hospital bill.
Everything, checked against everything.
A bill means nothing without the EOB. A lab result means more next to your medications and your sleep. Septemberr connects all of it into one ranked plan, and a chat that has read every page.
Your action plan
Ranked by money and health impact. Updated every time you upload.
- Do now$3,354.80Don't pay Riverside yet: it asks $3,354.80 more than your EOB
- This weekWalking boot denied with CO-197: the hospital, not you, missed the prior auth
- SoonTSH 6.8 and ferritin 11: two likely reasons you feel tired
- SoonResting heart rate up 5 bpm this week, matching the fatigue you logged
Big city or small town, the bill still has errors.
The problems look different depending on where you live. Septemberr is built for all of them.
Big cities
More hospitals, higher prices, and out-of-network specialists showing up at in-network hospitals.
- Flags prices far above Medicare rates
- Spots surprise bills the No Surprises Act bans
- Compares ER, urgent care and telehealth costs
Suburbs & mid-size cities
Employer plans with big deductibles, HSAs to manage, and bills that arrive before insurance has finished.
- Checks every bill against your EOB
- Tracks your deductible and out-of-pocket max
- Reads your plan summary so copays fill themselves in
Small towns & rural areas
One hospital and no choice, specialists hours away, and fewer people around who know how billing works.
- Finds hospital financial assistance you may qualify for
- Points to telehealth and community health centers
- Free mode works on any phone, no AI account needed
Stop typing numbers into forms. Just upload.
Everything you need is already in a PDF somewhere: your patient portal, the hospital's billing site, your insurer's app. Drop it in and get on with your day.
Upload
Download the PDF from your patient portal, hospital billing site or insurer app and drop it in. Photos work too.
Decode
We pull every number: lab values, CPT codes, allowed amounts, denial codes, your deductible. You type nothing.
Act
Get the dispute letter, the appeal script, the questions for your doctor, or the cheapest safe place to get care.
Every check a billing advocate would run. Go ahead, click.
Every tile is clickable, using sample documents. The medication and denial-code tiles run the same engine as the app.
Bill vs. EOB
The big oneHospitals often bill before your insurer finishes. Upload both and Septemberr lines them up, code by code.
We check our own math
Every read is checked against the document's own totals. If it doesn't add up, we say so.
- ER visit level 4$1,980
- CT abdomen & pelvis$6,412
- Contrast, 100 mL$1,150
- Labs & IV$1,838
- We read$11,380
- Bill's printed total$11,380
Denial codes, decoded
Prior authorization was missing.
In-network providers are responsible for getting authorization. Ask them to request retro-authorization or appeal. They generally cannot bill you.
Line-by-line audit
Exact duplicate. Ask them to remove it.
Lab results, explained
Above range: your thyroid may be underactive. A common, checkable cause of tiredness.
Wearable trends
Up 5 bpm this week, the same week you logged fatigue. Often a cold coming on, poor sleep, or stress.
Right place, right price
Same sprained ankle. Where you go matters more than what's wrong.
Exam + X-ray, in-network. Right for a sprain.
Chest pain, stroke signs or trouble breathing always mean the ER.
Medication check
LiveAdd something from the medicine cabinet. This runs the same checker as the app.

30 plain-English plays for bills, insurance, labs, prescriptions and HSAs, with word-for-word scripts.
Never pay a bill before the EOB arrives
Saves $100s–$1,000sProviders often bill before your insurer finishes processing the claim. The EOB says what you actually owe. If the bill is higher, the provider has to rebill.
“I’m happy to pay my share once the claim processes. Please hold the account until you can bill me per my EOB.”
A “CO” code on your EOB means it isn’t your bill
Often removes the chargeAdjustment codes starting with CO (contractual obligation), like CO-45, CO-97 or CO-197, are amounts the in-network provider agreed to absorb. If they bill you for it, quote the code back to them.
Appeal every denial. It works more often than you think.
High win rateFewer than 1% of denied claims are appealed, yet a large share of appeals win. File the internal appeal (you usually have 180 days), then request an independent external review if you lose.
“Please send me the specific plan provision and clinical criteria used to deny this claim, and the name and credentials of the reviewer.”
Send labs to an in-network independent lab
Saves up to 90%The same blood panel can cost $30 at an in-network independent lab and $300+ at a hospital lab. Ask your doctor to send the order to your plan’s preferred lab.
Preventive care is $0. Don’t let it become a billed visit.
Annual physicals, many screenings, vaccines, contraception and well-woman visits are free in-network. Discussing a new problem during the visit can add a billed problem-oriented visit. Book a separate appointment for problems, or ask upfront how it will be coded.
Lost a job? You have 60 days.
Often $100s/mo cheaperLosing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period on HealthCare.gov. Marketplace plans with subsidies are often far cheaper than COBRA, and your income may qualify you for a $0 premium plan or Medicaid.

Paste results from your patient portal
7 results read; 7 outside the reference range: Glucose (fasting) (high), Hemoglobin A1c (high), LDL cholesterol (high), HDL cholesterol (low), TSH (high), Vitamin D, 25-OH (low), Ferritin (low). Most out-of-range values are mild and are interpreted alongside symptoms and prior results.
- Glucose (fasting)105 mg/dLhigh
Sugar in your blood. Fasting values show how well your body regulates sugar. 100–125 fasting suggests prediabetes; 126+ on two tests suggests diabetes. A non-fasting sample reads higher.
- Hemoglobin A1c5.9 %high
Your average blood sugar over roughly the last 3 months. 5.7–6.4% is the prediabetes range; 6.5% or higher meets the diabetes threshold.
- LDL cholesterol142 mg/dLhigh
"Bad" cholesterol that builds up in artery walls. Your target depends on overall heart risk; 190+ often warrants medication regardless of other risk.
- HDL cholesterol38 mg/dLlow
"Good" cholesterol that helps clear LDL. Exercise, quitting smoking and weight loss tend to raise it.
- TSH5.6 mIU/Lhigh
The brain's signal to your thyroid. It moves opposite to thyroid activity. Suggests an underactive thyroid (fatigue, weight gain, feeling cold). Usually rechecked with Free T4.
- Vitamin D, 25-OH19 ng/mLlow
Supports bone and muscle health. 20–29 is insufficient and under 20 deficient; supplements are inexpensive, so ask about a dose.
- Ferritin11 ng/mLlow
Your iron stores. Iron deficiency, even before anemia shows up. Fatigue and hair shedding are common.

Stolen medical records sell for more than credit card numbers, and you can't cancel your medical history. So we built Septemberr to keep as little as possible, lock up what it keeps, and let you see and erase all of it.
Encrypted at rest
Everything we keep is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the same standard banks use.
Files are never stored
Your PDF is read in memory and thrown away. We keep the numbers, not the file.

Questions
When can I use it?+
Septemberr is in private preview and launching soon. Everything shown on this page is built and running. Request a demo, or email maruakshay4@gmail.com, and we'll walk you through it live.
Will it be free?+
Yes, and not as a trial. Document reading, bill and EOB checks, lab explanations, cost estimates, interaction checks and wearable analysis all run on our own engine at no cost. For conversational AI you connect your own account with one of 14 providers, so there is nothing for us to charge you for.
How is my data protected?+
Everything we store is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Uploaded files are never stored, only the numbers we extract. You can see every sign-in in your activity log, download all your data, and delete any part of it or your whole account instantly.
Who can see my health information?+
You. We never sell or share it. If you connect a cloud AI, your question and a summary of your records go to that provider under your own account when you chat. If you want nothing to leave your computer, use Ollama or the free offline mode.
What documents work?+
Lab reports, itemized hospital and doctor bills, insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements, and plan Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) PDFs. Digital PDFs from portals read instantly; scans and phone photos use AI vision when it is enabled.
Do you keep my files?+
No. Files are read in memory and discarded. We keep only the extracted results so you can come back to them, and you can delete those anytime.
Do I have to pay for the AI?+
Not to us. The free offline engine handles documents, bills and labs. For conversational answers, connect your own account with one of 14 providers (several have free tiers) or run models locally with Ollama. Your key stays in your browser.
I live in a small town. Will this work for me?+
Yes. Your bills, EOBs and plan documents work the same way everywhere in the US. Septemberr also points you to hospital financial assistance, telehealth and community health centers, which matter most when the nearest specialist is hours away. Free mode works on any phone.
Does it replace my doctor or a billing advocate?+
No. It helps you understand your documents, spot problems and act faster. It does not diagnose, and it always tells you when something needs a clinician now.
What about Google Fit?+
Google is retiring the Fit APIs at the end of 2026. Septemberr uses the new Google Health API, and also accepts Health Connect and CSV exports.
Every American has a bill on the counter. We're building the app that checks it.
Septemberr is in private preview. See it live in a 20-minute demo.
